Supreme Court 

-How has the Supreme Court during the 19th and 20th Centuries ruled on and dealt with tribal sovereignty and tribal political powers? -You must include at least THREE sources to make your point.  Make sure to identify the source.  You can do so in one of several ways.  Ex. (1) As the Pueblo Indian Juan declared in Ch. 2., Pope said he was empowered by the Devil and the Indians should destroy Christian images.  Ex. (2)  According to the source, “Declaration of Indian Juan,” Juan justified his actions by blaming the leader, saying “Indian Pope talks with the devil, and for this reason all held him in terror.” (121)    Essentially it must be clear what source you are referencing and where it can be found in the textbook. Please note that you should quote or paraphrase the actual source itself, i.e. the native person’s words or his/her images for this assignment. Please do not quote the text’s introductions to the sources.  The idea is to use the “native voice” i.e. their own words or images to discuss their perceptions of their historical reality.  -Responses should be 2 pages, single-spaced. Sources will be attached as pictures from textbook.
