Purpose: Complete a thorough literature review and write the rationale section for your research proposal.
Instructions: For this assignment, you are going to conduct a thorough literature review to find past research and peer-reviewed literature that you can apply to your intended research topic. After conducting the literature review, you are to write the rationale section of your research proposal. The ”Rationale” section of your research proposal is related to the introduction and literature review in a research paper. The purpose of the Rationale is to put the proposal in context to the current state of knowledge on your topic. It should answer the question of why and what: why the research needs to be done and what will be its relevance. A description of the most relevant studies published on the subject should be provided to support the rationale for the study. The rationale should be engaging, state the main topic and the reason for the study, and cite relevant literature to support the rationale of the study. The relevant literature should be synthesized the key points/concepts from peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements:
Synthesize the information from the literature review and write the rationale portion of the research proposal
Write the Rationale section should be 8 – 10 pages in length
Create a reference list of a minimum of 15 peer-reviewed journal article and past research studies supporting your topic
Format: Submit the assignment in a word document. Your paper should be formatted following APA 7 Guidelines. You do not need a cover page for this assignment. Please make sure your paper meets these guidelines:

Times New Roman, Size 12 font

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
